MARY PAUL YATES has designed a signature collection for Burton James that features sensuous, sculptural  forms in upholstered furniture.Dressmaker details and lyrical color embrace the eye to  create a gracious, warm home ambience. In addition to her work for Burton James, Ms. Yates has been responsible for the creative direction and product development for numerous textile mills, wholesalers, and furniture manufacturers in the residential and contract interior furnishings field. She is the principal of Yates Design Inc. and is a Member of the Color Association of the United States Interior Colors  Forecasting Committee and is a former adjunct faculty member Parsons School of Design, Fashion Institute of Technology, and Hunter College. She is a recipient of various grants and awards and is listed in Who's Who in America. She is the author of two books: Fabrics: A Guide for Interior Designers andArchitects, for which she was awarded ASID Educational Alliance /Joel Polsky award for 2003, and Textiles: A Handbook for Designers, a reference for textile designers.
